Privacy policy
Effective Date: September 12, 2026
Everlasting Storybooks is a brand of Print Nation, LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit everlastingstorybooks.com (the “Site”) or order from us, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
We know you're trusting us with photos of your child. We take that seriously. The short version: we use your child's photos only to make your book, we don't sell them, we don't use them to train AI, and we delete them 90 days after your book ships. The details are below.
1. Information We Collect
Information you give us
- Order and account details: your name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing addresses, and order history.
- Your child's details: first name, gender, date of birth, and any other personalization you enter (such as a dedication message).
- Your child's photos: the photos you upload so we can create an illustrated character.
- Communications: messages you send us, notes from designer sessions, and survey responses.
- Marketing consent choices: whether you've opted in to marketing emails or texts, and whether you've opted in to having your child's book featured in our marketing.
Payment information is collected and processed by our payment processors (such as Shopify Payments, PayPal, or Shop Pay). We do not store your full card number.
Information collected automatically
When you use the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect device and usage information: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages viewed, links clicked, referring URL, and approximate location (city/region). We collect this using cookies, pixels, and similar technologies (see Section 6).
Session recordings. We use a session replay tool that records how visitors interact with our Site — mouse movements, clicks, scrolling, and page navigation — to find and fix usability problems. These recordings are configured to mask payment fields, uploaded photos, and your child's personal details. You can opt out through our cookie banner.
2. How We Use Information
We use your information to:
- Make your book. We use your child's name, details, and photos to create the illustrated character and personalized book you ordered, produce proofs, and manufacture and ship the finished product. We use your child's date of birth to help the illustration reflect their age.
- Provide customer service, including designer sessions, proof reminders, remakes, and answering your questions.
- Process payments and prevent fraud.
- Send order communications — confirmations, proof-ready notices, reminders, and shipping updates — by email, text, or phone.
- Send marketing communications, if you've opted in, and show you ads for our products on other platforms (see Section 6). If you've opted in, we may use your child's date of birth to send you age-relevant book suggestions and reminders around birthdays and other milestones.
- Improve our Site, products, and service, including through analytics and session recordings.
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service.
What we don't do with your child's photos. We do not sell them. We do not use them to train or improve AI models — ours or anyone else's. We do not use them for facial recognition or to identify anyone. We do not use them in marketing unless you've separately opted in.
3. How We Use AI to Create Your Book
We use artificial intelligence image-generation tools, operated by third-party providers, to transform your child's photos into an illustrated character and to generate the pages of your book. Here's how that works and what it means for your data:
- Your child's photos are sent to our AI providers only to generate your illustrations, under contracts that restrict them from using your content for any other purpose, including training their models.
- The AI creates an artistic rendering of your child in the style you select, which may range from illustrated to realistic. The output is an image created for your book — not a biometric measurement, face template, or identification record.
- We may use more than one AI provider, and our providers may change as technology improves. In every case, the same restrictions apply.
- Members of our team may view your photos and generated illustrations to check quality, make adjustments, and assist you in designer sessions.
Biometric information. Some laws treat scans of facial geometry as “biometric identifiers.” We do not create, collect, or store biometric identifiers or face templates for the purpose of identifying your child or anyone else, and we do not use facial recognition. The photos you upload are processed solely to produce artwork and are deleted as described in Section 7. To the extent any law treats this processing as involving biometric data, this policy serves as our written notice of that processing and our retention and deletion schedule, and by uploading photos you (as the child's parent or legal guardian) consent to that processing for the purpose of creating your book.
4. Children's Privacy
Our Site and services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13, and children may not create accounts or place orders.
All information about a child — name, gender, photos — is provided by a parent or legal guardian (or someone with their permission) for the purpose of creating a personalized book. We use that information only to make the book, provide support, and fulfill remakes, and we delete photos as described in Section 7.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information directly, or that a child's information was submitted without a parent's or guardian's permission, contact us at privacy@everlastingstorybooks.com and we will delete it.
5. Who We Share Information With
We share information only as needed to run our business:
- AI image-generation providers — to create your child's character and book illustrations (Section 3).
- E-commerce platform and payment processors — our store runs on Shopify; payments are handled by Shopify Payments and the other processors offered at checkout.
- Production and fulfillment — Print Nation, LLC manufactures your book; we share shipping details with carriers such as USPS, UPS, and FedEx.
- Communications providers — email and SMS platforms that send order and marketing messages, and our phone system for calls and voicemail.
- Scheduling tools — to book designer sessions.
- Analytics and session replay providers — to understand how our Site is used.
- Advertising platforms — such as Meta (Facebook/Instagram), Google, TikTok, Pinterest, and Amazon, which use cookies and pixels to measure our ads and show you relevant ads (Section 6). We never share your child's photos, name, or illustrations with advertising platforms.
- Professional advisors — lawyers, accountants, and similar, when necessary.
- Legal and safety — when required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights, our customers, or the public.
- Business transfers — if Print Nation, LLC or the Everlasting Storybooks brand is sold or merged, information may transfer to the new owner, subject to this policy.
Our service providers are contractually required to use your information only to provide services to us and to protect it appropriately.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Under some state laws, allowing advertising platforms to collect data through cookies and pixels is considered “sharing” or a “sale.” You can opt out — see Section 8.
6. Cookies, Pixels, and Advertising
We use cookies and similar technologies for:
- Essential functions — keeping your cart, logging you in, processing checkout. These can't be turned off.
- Analytics — understanding how visitors use the Site (for example, Google Analytics and our session replay tool).
- Advertising — measuring our ads and showing you our ads on other platforms. We use pixels from platforms including Meta, Google, TikTok, Pinterest, and Amazon. These platforms may combine what they collect on our Site with other information they have about you, under their own privacy policies.
Your choices. When you first visit, a cookie banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies, and you can change your choice anytime via the “Cookie Preferences” link in our footer. Most browsers also let you block cookies. Declining non-essential cookies won't affect your ability to order.
You can also opt out of interest-based advertising through the Digital Advertising Alliance at optout.aboutads.info, and adjust ad settings directly with Meta, Google, TikTok, and other platforms.
Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as an opt-out of sale/sharing where required by law.
7. How Long We Keep Information
| Information | Retention |
|---|---|
| Your child's uploaded photos | Deleted automatically 90 days after your book ships. You can request earlier deletion any time after your book is delivered (this may limit our ability to remake a defective book). If you cancel before ordering is complete, photos are deleted within 30 days of cancellation. If you separately give us written permission to use a specific photo in our marketing, we keep that photo for as long as the permission is in effect. |
| Illustrated character and finished book files | Kept for 1 year after your order so you can reorder or purchase additional books, then deleted. You can request earlier deletion. |
| Order records and communications | Kept for as long as needed for tax, accounting, warranty, and dispute purposes (generally 7 years). |
| Marketing preferences | Kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information. |
| Session recordings and analytics | Kept according to the provider's retention period (generally no more than [13 months]). |
8. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we've collected about you and how we use and share it
- Access a copy of your information
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your information (subject to exceptions, like completing an order you've placed or keeping records the law requires)
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your information for targeted advertising
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights
To exercise these rights, email privacy@everlastingstorybooks.com. We handle privacy requests by email so that you and we both have a written record. We'll verify your identity by matching details to your order records; an authorized agent may act on your behalf with your written permission. We'll respond within the time required by law (generally 45 days). If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our response.
To opt out of sale/sharing for advertising, click “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” in our footer, decline advertising cookies in the banner, or enable Global Privacy Control in your browser.
Marketing emails and texts. Unsubscribe using the link in any email, or reply STOP to any text. You'll still receive order-related messages.
Text messaging (SMS). If you provide your mobile number, we may text you about your order — proof-ready notices, reminders, and shipping updates. If you separately opt in to marketing texts, we'll also send occasional promotions and product news. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to cancel or HELP for help. Consent to marketing texts is not a condition of purchase. We will not share your mobile number or your text-messaging opt-in with any third party or affiliate for their marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information is shared only with the service providers that send messages on our behalf. See our SMS Terms for details.
California residents. In the past 12 months we've collected the categories of information described in Section 1 (identifiers, customer records, commercial information, internet activity, geolocation, and the child-related information you provide), for the purposes in Section 2, and shared them with the categories of recipients in Section 5. We “share” identifiers and internet activity with advertising platforms for cross-context behavioral advertising; we do not sell personal information for money, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16. Our marketing opt-in program, which may offer a reward for allowing us to feature your child's book, is a financial incentive; its terms are described when you opt in, participation is voluntary, and you may withdraw at any time. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than providing our services.
Nevada residents. We do not sell covered information as defined under Nevada law. You may still submit a request at the contact above.
Other states. Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have similar rights, exercisable through the same contacts above.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and vendor due diligence. Photo uploads are encrypted in transit and stored with restricted access. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we'll notify you as required by law if a breach affects your information.
10. Where Your Information Is Processed
We are based in the United States, and your information is stored and primarily processed here. Members of our team and our contractors — including customer support and software development personnel — are located in the United States and in other countries, and may access your information from those locations to provide our services. Everyone with access is bound by confidentiality obligations and limited to what they need to do their job. Some of our service providers may also process data outside the U.S. If you order from outside the U.S., you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. and the other locations described here.
11. Third-Party Links
Our Site may link to other websites and social media platforms. Their privacy practices are their own; we encourage you to review their policies.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the new version here with a new effective date, and for significant changes we'll notify you by email or a notice on the Site.
