Refund policy

Effective Date: September 12, 2026
Everlasting Storybooks is a brand of Print Nation, LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”).

Every Everlasting Storybook is made to order for one child. Because your book is personalized and cannot be resold, our policy works differently from a typical store. This page explains exactly what you can expect at each stage. If anything is unclear, contact us before you order — we’re happy to help.

1. Before You Approve Your Book: Full Refund, No Questions

Your order is approved in two stages. First, we turn your child’s photos into an illustrated character and ask you to approve it. Then we use that character to create the complete book proof for your review. Until you approve the book proof, you may cancel for a full refund at any time, for any reason.

Get the likeness right at the character stage. The character proof is your opportunity to adjust how your child looks — hair, skin tone, eyes, glasses, expression — and revisions are free until you approve the character. If something doesn’t look right, you can also request a free 30-minute live session with one of our designers. Together you’ll talk through what isn’t working, and the designer may ask for additional photos, generate a few alternative versions, and refine the character with you in real time until it feels right. Once you approve the character, it is used to generate every page of your book.

After character approval. On the book proof, corrections to the name, spelling, text, or layout are always free. Changes to the character’s appearance require the entire book to be regenerated, so they’re handled in a 30-minute one-on-one designer session for $15, where our designer adjusts the likeness with you live and regenerates your book.

Proofs waiting on you. If we don’t hear from you, we’ll send reminders. If your book proof is still unapproved 60 days after your order, we’ll automatically cancel the order and refund your payment in full to your original payment method.

2. After You Approve Your Book: It Goes Into Production

When you approve your book proof, we begin manufacturing your book. From this point, your order is final and cannot be cancelled or refunded, because production has begun on a product made only for you.

Please review both proofs carefully. Your character approval confirms your child’s illustrated appearance; your book approval confirms that the name, spelling, gender, text, and layout are exactly as you want them. We are not responsible for any error that was visible in a proof you approved, including:

  • Misspelled or incorrect names
  • Wrong photos or photos of the wrong child
  • Dissatisfaction with how the illustrated character resembles your child
  • Layout, wording, or design choices you approved

Your child’s character is an AI-generated rendering created from the photos you provide, in the style you select. How closely it resembles your child depends on the style chosen and on photo quality, lighting, and angle. What you see in the proof is what we will print.

Once approved, no changes can be made. If you spot an error after approving, contact us immediately at support@everlastingstorybooks.com — if production has not yet started we will try to help, but we cannot guarantee changes.

3. What “Normal” Looks Like: Acceptable Variations

A hardcover book passes through dozens of steps — printing, folding, gathering, gluing, casing-in, pressing, trimming — some done by machines, some by hand. Every one of those steps leaves small traces, and no printed book is completely free of them. Your Everlasting Storybook is made to be read, loved, and read again, not displayed under glass, and these small marks are simply part of how a real book is made. The following are normal in bookmaking and do not qualify as defects:

  • Color: Printed colors will not exactly match your screen. Screens display in RGB; books print in CMYK. We print to pleasing color, and slight differences in tone, brightness, or saturation between the proof and the printed book — or between two copies of the same book — are normal.
  • Trimming and alignment: Slight trim offsets or page-to-page alignment shifts of a few millimeters.
  • Glue at the endsheets: In hardcover binding, the adhesive that attaches the cover can spread slightly past the endsheet and lightly stick it to the first page. We separate these by hand before the book ships, and the result looks like what happens when you glue two sheets of paper together and pull them apart — a small patch where the paper surface is slightly rough or lifted, usually near the spine edge. This is one of the most common traits of a casebound book and does not affect how the book reads, opens, or holds up.
  • Binding: Minor spine misalignment, slight cover warp or page curl (especially in new hardcover books and in dry or humid climates), or small glue residue that can be wiped away.
  • Surface: Small specks, dust marks, light scuffs or scratches in the laminate, or minor foil speckling or gaps on covers with foil.
  • Press marks: Commercial printing presses move paper at high speed across belts, rollers, and fusers. Even a well-maintained press will occasionally leave a faint mark, small spot, or slight imprint on a page — from a speck on a belt, a bit of toner, or a tiny surface variation in the paper itself. We inspect and maintain our equipment continuously, but these small marks are an inherent part of the printing process.

A book may contain up to five such minor imperfections and still meet our quality standard. A single recurring imperfection that appears on multiple pages (for example, the same small speck) counts as one. Imperfections that wipe off do not count.

Everlasting Storybooks determines in good faith whether an issue is a minor imperfection or a genuine defect. We won’t remake a book based on personal taste, aesthetic preference, or an expectation of flawlessness — but we will always take a real problem seriously.

4. Genuine Defects: We Will Make It Right

If your book arrives with a genuine manufacturing defect, we will remake it at no charge. Genuine defects include:

  • Binding failure — pages loose, falling out, or the cover separating
  • Missing, duplicated, blank, or out-of-order pages
  • Significant printing errors — heavy streaks, smears, or large blemishes that obscure text or images
  • A book that is materially different from the approved proof
  • More than five minor imperfections on a single book

How to make a claim:

  1. Contact us within 14 days of delivery at support@everlastingstorybooks.com with your order number and clear photos of the problem.
  2. We review within 2 business days and confirm whether the issue is a defect.
  3. We send a prepaid return label. Ship the original book back to us — you won’t pay for return shipping on a confirmed defect.
  4. Your remake ships once the return is scanned by the carrier. You don’t need to wait for it to reach us.

Your remake will be an exact copy of your approved proof. No changes, updates, or substitutions can be made at this stage. One remake is provided per order. In the rare case we are unable to produce a satisfactory remake, we will refund your order in full.

Claims made after 14 days, or without photos, may not be eligible.

5. Lost or Damaged in Shipping

If your book is lost in transit or arrives damaged by the carrier, we will remake and reship it at no charge — and we handle the carrier claim, not you.

To help us file that claim, please:

  • Report the issue within 7 days of delivery (or of the expected delivery date, if the package never arrived)
  • Send photos of the damaged book, the shipping box (including the label), and the packing materials
  • Keep the book and all packaging until we tell you it’s okay to discard them

We can’t offer a cash refund for shipping loss or damage, but we will always replace your book.

Please check your shipping address carefully at checkout. We are unable to remake or refund books shipped to an incorrect address provided by the customer.

6. Shipping Timeframes

Our production time begins on the next business day after you approve your proof, not when you place your order. For example, a proof approved on Friday evening or over the weekend enters production on Monday. Your estimated ship window is shown at checkout and in your approval confirmation, and carrier transit time is shown separately. Time spent waiting for your proof approval does not count toward our production time.

If we are unable to ship your book within the production window we stated, we will notify you and you may choose to wait or cancel for a full refund.

For more detail, see our Shipping & Delivery Policy.

7. Rush Service

If you purchase Rush Service and we fail to deliver your proof within the promised rush window, we will refund the rush fee. The rush fee covers our proof and production speed; it does not guarantee carrier transit times, which are outside our control.

8. Designer Sessions

Paid one-on-one designer sessions are booked for a specific time. You may reschedule once, free of charge, with at least 2 hours’ notice. If you miss your session or cancel with less than 2 hours’ notice, the session fee is forfeited; you may book a new session at the standard rate.

The free 30-minute character session described in Section 1 is offered once per order, before character approval. After character approval, likeness changes are handled in a $15, 30-minute designer session.

9. Non-Personalized Add-On Items

Some items you can add to your order — such as gift boxes and plush toys — aren’t personalized. These may be returned within 14 days of delivery in new, unused condition with original packaging for a refund of the item price. Return shipping is your responsibility unless the item arrived damaged or defective, in which case we’ll send a prepaid label and replace or refund it. Contact support@everlastingstorybooks.com with your order number to start a return.

Personalized items — including personalized coloring books, greeting cards, and puzzles — are made to order and follow the remake-only policy above.

10. Payment Disputes

If you have any concern about your order, please contact us first. We resolve nearly every issue quickly and directly. Filing a chargeback without contacting us delays resolution for everyone, including you.
